Thank you for your interest in SoVerA membership. This page is for both new and renewing members to purchase a SoVerA membership. (If you are interested in donating to SoVerA, please visit the philanthropy page.)
SoVerA membership includes a variety of benefits:
- attendance at SoVerA membership-only meetings, events, and star parties (meetings & events, calendar);
- participation in SoVerA membership-only e-mail news and discussion lists (mailing lists);
- membership-only registration discounts for SoVerA’s astronomy courses (courses);
- support of SoVerA’s mission (charter).
SoVerA membership is for the calendar year* and is available at several levels:
- Individual, $35;
- Family, $40;
- Student, $25;
- Senior, $30.
* New memberships received on or after September 1 will also include the following calendar year.
For membership, we ask for both your e-mail address and postal address for administrative purposes. We do not rent or sell this information. Both e-mail address and postal address will be shared with PayPal for the purposes of completing this transaction electronically.
If this membership is either a gift membership or a membership for a minor, please see the instructions below for joining or renewing a membership by postal mail. Also, please do not provide an e-mail address for a minor.
By joining or renewing, you will be added to two low-volume e-mail lists, including sovera-members for member-only announcements and sovera-announce for public-oriented announcements. You will have the option of joining additional higher-volume mailing lists, including sovera-chat and sovera-research.

Your e-mail address and postal address will be requested by PayPal at checkout in order to complete the transaction. For family memberships, please provide names of all family members when providing address information. Although payments are processed through PayPal, you do not need a PayPal account.
